Reading about the Kindle DX Wireless Reading Device is this type of joy. I’ve been so happy with my first generation Kindle 1, but the DX takes Kindle reading towards the next level. The quantity of content that fits onto the screen is usually a vast improvement to that experience. And even much better than the *quantity* of content will be the *quality* of the subject matter. The display on the DX is truly extraordinary.
I write technical documents to get a living. The product documentation i always write is full with images, diagrams, and vibrant formatting. I’ve tried loading my PDF documents against my Kindle 1, but they don’t display. I couldn’t believe my eyes after i loaded my PDFs against the Kindle DX. The formatting with the page displayed perfectly!!!driving and rotating was easy.
I read a wide range of technical documents too. I’ve always been sorry we couldn’t read good techie books on my Kindle just one (the latest Photoshop courses, etc. ) They look wonderful on the DX although. With the DX, you can carry your whole reference library along: dictionaries, reference manuals, that Bible,…I even have PDF versions from the shop manuals for our dirt bikes. I haven’t loaded them onto the actual DX, but it sure could be easier to have these folks on one compact system than having five big fat books for any bikes.
The Kindle DX isn’t really cheap, but I imagine the cost will come down eventually enjoy it did with earlier Kindle choices. It is an striking device though–truly a game changing piece of equipment. Think of how your own TV viewing changed whenever you got your first TiVo, how driving changed whenever you got a GPS, how your phone changed when you got voicemail and owner ID. That’s how your reading will change whenever you get your fist Kindle.
